Anat Saragusti (moderator)
Anat Saragusti is a journalist, commentator and human-rights activist. In 2016 she was awarded the “Unsung Hero” Drum Major for Justice Award for “exceptional global leadership, commitment to the elevation of humankind through advocacy and awareness and for personifying the spirit of Dr. King’s core philosophies.
A well-known news reporter, Saragusti worked at the Israeli TV Channel 2 News where she reported from Gaza and was Evening News Editor and Editor of the Friday magazine. A peace activist and human rights advocate, Saragusti is the former executive director of Agenda, Center for Strategic Communication and served as the director of B’Tselem USA.
Saragusti is a leading women’s activist and is an expert of UNSCR 1325 in the Israeli context, a landmark UN resolution that recognizes the important role women play in prevention and resolution of conflicts, peace negotiations, peace-building, peacekeeping, and in post-conflict reconstruction. She is a veteran member of Women Wage Peace, the largest grassroots movement in Israel to foster public support for a respectful agreement to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine. WWP also works to include women in decision making forums on state security and peace. She has a master’s degree in law from Tel Aviv University.
