Seida Saric

Seida Saric serves as the Director of Žene za Žene International Association Sarajevo, an independent local organization dedicated to women’s empowerment, in association with Women for Women International. She was born in the Southeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina and for more than four years, Seida lived under siege in Sarajevo, risking her life on a daily basis to provide emergency services to her fellow citizens trapped in the city. Following the conflict, she has helped more than 29,000 women rebuild their lives after surviving rape, forced impregnation, and ethnic cleansing. She also oversees Women for Women International’s largest and most successful micro-credit program, which has provided loans to nearly 30,000 women totalling over $55 million.
